Roaming the High Country of West Penwith, I came across many derelict granite cottages. In particular, I returned time and again to Springs Farm near where I lived drawn by the detritus of lives long since moved on:  barbie dolls, discarded Christmas decorations, a school portrait in the same uniform as I children were wearing at the time, a toby mug biscuit barrel just like my Grandmother's which long having lost its lid now holds my collection of wooden spoons, cups, saucers, an old lawnmower type contraption... A family home that now lies empty in an area marked by housing crisis.
Oil on canvas. Triptyches: 360x150cm; single canvases 150x180cm; three smaller paintings on a white background 80x60cm.
